"FUNNY THINGS HAPPEN DOWN UNDER (1965)" - Friday 26 November at 2pm
This delightful musical comedy, with Olivia Newton-John, is still a breath of fresh air! On the cusp of the renaissance of the Australian film industry, it was actually made by a New Zealand producer, Pacific Films, and it exudes an optimism for better days to come. The teenage singing star makes her very first venture into the movies, and she shares the limelight with a childrens' gang called the Terrible Ten, Maori singer Howard Morrison, music from the irrepressible Horrie Dargie Quintet, and a flock of multi-coloured sheep.
