Jan Müller resigns media release here.



Jan Müller has been appointed director of the RPO. He is currently still working in Australia and will take office on 1 February 2021.

The Supervisory Board of the RPO has appointed Jan Müller (1967) as director. He succeeds Gerard Schuiteman. Jan Müller, currently still working in Australia, will take office on February 1, 2021.

Müller knows the broadcasting world well. From 2009 to 2017 he was general director of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, which partly originated from public broadcasting. He then accepted the position as CEO of The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia in Canberra, which he developed from analogue archive to a national media institution like Sound and Vision. Müller started his career in the advertising world and worked there for 20 years; the last 6 years as CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi. In addition to 20 years of administrative experience, he also brings a lot of knowledge of digital culture and innovation. He was, among other things, chairman of the European Foundation, chairman of the Media Literacy Network, president of the International Federation of Television Archives (FIAT / IFTA), founder and chairman of the Australian Media Literacy Alliance in Australia and member of the ministerial advisory committee on the field of broadband and 5G.
