We are delighted to have re-established contact with the Melbourne Cinémathèque, an established subscription organisation showing important films at ACMI Cinema in Federation Square. The Cinémathèque was formerly the Melbourne University Film Society, until the 1980s.

On Wednesday 19 October at 7pm, the Cinémathèque is showing a program of films by the 1950s radical filmmaker, Cecil Holmes; Captain Thunderbolt and Three in One, based on stories of Henry Lawson and Frank Hardy.  Thunderbolt will be introduced by David Donaldson who has already spoken to Melfriendsnfsa about The Kid Stakes.

Melfriendsnfsa are invited to purchase a temporary (three-week) subscription to enable attendance on 19 October. This Mini-Subscription can be obtained online at the Melbourne Cinematheque website or at the ACMI Box Office on 19 October.  If booking on the night, please allow time to organise your ticket.  The cost is $32 or $27 (concession), which will entitle you to several films over three weeks.

Some information about the
Cinémathèque is here, with permission.  Many thanks to Adrian Danks and to David Donaldson. Information is also available on their website: https://www.melbournecinematheque.org

If you are coming, please let us know via
